Zero-Tolerance Policy

Zero Tolerance Policy.
VanGo has a zero-tolerance policy for both drug and alcohol use while driving with VanGo. Any Driver found to have violated this Zero Tolerance Policy will have their VanGo account deactivated.

VanGo maintains a zero tolerance policy with regard to any physical contact with passengers, or the use of a mobile device for talking, texting or using a phone while driving for VanGo with a passenger in their car.

Zero Tolerance Statement for Sexual Abuse.
VanGo is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for all passengers, drivers, and parents, as well as, promoting an environment that is free of misconduct. Therefore, the following Policy has been set forth to promote a safe environment, both solely and in partnership with other necessary parties, including drivers, parents, and passengers.

VanGo has zero tolerance for abuse, including inappropriate behavior and sexual misconduct. All drivers shall abide by and adhere to all VanGo policies, standards, rules, procedures and guidelines pertaining to safe environments.

Definition of Abuse.
Abuse, including child abuse, is defined in various sources, such as state statutes, case law, and human rights commission materials. VanGo has not adopted any specific definition of abuse; rather, it has chosen to defer to such general sources and definitions for reference and application, depending upon the circumstances.

Nonetheless, in general, the following conduct may be considered abusive:

Physical Abuse:

  • Any physical contact with a participant that intentionally causes the participant to sustain bodily harm, including without limitation striking, hitting, kicking, biting, shaking, or shoving

  • Any physical contact with a participant that intentionally creates a threat of immediate bodily harm or personal injury

  • Any violation of applicable law

Sexual Abuse:

  • Any form of sexual contact or inappropriate touching, unwanted physical contact, unwelcome advances or requests for sexual favors

  • Any form of wanton or obscene gesturing, lewd remarks or indecent exposure

Sexual abuse also includes sexual misconduct, including:

  • Engaging in sexual harassment by making unwelcome advances, requests for sexual favors or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature where such conduct creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment

  • Any violation of applicable law involving sexual misconduct or child abuse, or that is specifically designed to protect minors

Standards of Behavior.

To promote a safe environment for VanGo rides, all Drivers must adhere to the following Standards of Behavior. To ensure the safety of all involved, Drivers must adhere to the following practices:

  • Passengers must never be transported without express permission from a parent

  • VanGo must be informed when Passengers are being transported by Drivers

  • Passengers should be transported directly to their destination. No unauthorized stops should be made

  • Drivers should not have any physical contact with a passenger while in vehicle

  • All contact should end when the trip is complete, unless it’s to return a lost item. For example, texting, calling, visiting, asking someone to visit, or trying to visit someone in person after a trip has been completed is not allowed.

  • Document any unusual incidents, including disclosures of abuse or maltreatment, behavior problems and how they were handled, injuries, or any interactions that might be misinterpreted.

Any suspected violation of this policy or VanGo’s other protection-related policies, standards, rules, procedures and guidelines should be reported and will be addressed. Violations could result in progressive discipline up to and including immediate termination of Driver's right to access or use our Service.
